Back to School blues

So this week I am in the final stretch of back to school prep. I know many have already started back, and some are still holding on to summer for a bit longer.

Lets not forget to put ourselves closer to the top of the list this year.

I know you hear this allllllllll the time but the more you do the night before the better you morning will be!

For me that looks like gathering up what books, and worksheets we will do the next day.

For others that’s packing lunch, and backpacks.

There is a mountain of advice out there for back to school for your home, and your kids.

Let me share some for you!

Each night before bed put out your water bottle.

Pack your lunch (or plan it out at least)

Put dinner in the fridge if it needs to defrost. OR if you are really spunky cook it the night before, heat it up the when you are ready to eat it, and stay a day ahead each night.

I do this often on Sunday I’ll cook Mondays Supper. Heat it up Monday, then while kiddo is doing her art that evening I’ll cook the next night. Makes for less rushing.

Set out your clothes not just the kids.

Put your bag or whatever it may be you need for your day by the door.

Just don’t forget you!!!

AND as a mom of a child who doesn’t sleep, one last tip. Sleep when you can, and when you can’t, snuggle up and watch them spin!

In other words, do your best, and let God handle the rest!
